So I heard about an exciting new technology called Eyefinity from graphics card manufacturer ATI. In my quest to completely immerse myself in the World of Warcraft, I promptly ran out and bought an XFX ATI Radeon HD 5770 which supports Eyefinity. This is the story of my adventure.
First, I should explain that Eyefinity is ATI’s proprietary technology that allows you to take virtually three or more monitors and have your computer’s operating system treat them as a single (very long) monitor. By doing this in the operating system level, you can play virtually any video game in an immersive three-monitor environment. So, when the evil trolls try to attack you from the extreme left or right, you can see them coming a mile away! It seems like a pretty amazing way to play video games and ATI is the only video card manufacturer with such a technology, although rumor has it Nvidia has been working on their own version of multi-monitor gaming technology for a while now.
